What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?

I want to buy a car with NOT high mileage, but different people tell me things like " 50,000 miles on a Buick is not the same as 50,000 miles on a Japanese car." Could someone please explain this to me? If I buy a Buick, what is considered good mileage and what is bad? If buy a Toyota or a Honda, what is considered low mileage and what is considered high? Thanks. What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?toyota 100k

There are a lot of variables in your question. Almost any car has high mileage if it is 75,000 miles or higher. It doesn't matter if it is a Asian (Korea and China makes cars too), European, or American car. Year plays a factor as well. For example, a 1995 with 60k miles would be considered great mileage on a car (Since most people put close to 12k miles a year on their car. Ergo 168k miles would be the norm).

Reliability is a completely different factor. Recently it's been noted that all three American car companies have had a big boost in quality of product. Toyota even fell a little in the last couple years (Lexus with their zip tied floor mats).

As a general rule, low mileage should be considered anywhere from 24k-40k miles on a car (personal preference). If the car is new enough and the mileage is low enough it could still be covered under warranty. 36K mile bumper to bumper, 50-60k power-train (engine, transmission, drive shaft or CV-joints, etc).

The easiest way to determine mileage is simply 12k a year for how many years since it's production. An 2006 with 36k miles (like my car) is average miles. Anything below that would be considered low mileage, anything over that is high mileage. What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?In general,Toyotas and Hondas are known to be more reliable than American cars. While buying a used car, its more important to see how the car has been maintained by the previous owner, than just the mileage figures.Ask for service records, which would give a fair idea of how the car had been maintained.

Cars driven appox 13K-14k miles a year are considered average driven, below 10k a year are less mileage and above 20k a year is high .So if you are looking at 5yr Toyota Camry/accord it would be fine even if its 70-75K driven or even more ,as they are proven cars.

For a Buick ,ideally u should find one thats less driven. What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?
