Where are the oxygen sensors located on a 2000 Honda Civic?

Firstly, let me apologize for the length of this question. But, I'm having trouble figuring out what to do. My fiancee has a 2000 Honda Civic. Her Check Engine light came on just recently. We hooked it up to a diagnostic machine that told us we had a/some bad oxygen sensors. The guy at the auto shop recommended a spray that is supposed to clean "gunk" of engine parts. He said if we spayed it and the light goes off, we have saved ourselves a lot of money. But, I don't know where the sensors are in order to try it. I know very little about auto mechanics. So, if you know the answer, please state it as if you were speaking to a kindergartener. Thanks in advance for any help.Where are the oxygen sensors located on a 2000 Honda Civic?if you,ll look on the exhaust manifold and start following it down you,ll see the first one, then follow it down some more and you,ll see the second one,it should have two on it ,honestly what he old you wont really work on it though, when those go bad they have to be replaced, there's no repairing them like he said, and even if it does make the light go off, you,ll have to get the trouble code erased, and i guarantee you it will come back on again,id just replace them and be done with it,that's the best way to handle this, good luck with it.Where are the oxygen sensors located on a 2000 Honda Civic?First, unless the O2 sensor trouble code was for a burned out heater element, then you probably don't need new oxygen sensors just because you got an oxygen sensor error code. Error codes do not tell the repair technician what parts need replacing necessarily. Any engine performance problem could cause an O2 error code due to a lean or rich engine misfire. So the next thing you need is for a knowledgeable shop technician to hook up an OBD-II scanner (not just a code reader) to the OBD-II diagnostic connector to look at things like the long and short term fuel trims etc to see if the engine is combusting the air fuel mixture properly. Automobile parts are too expensive nowadays to just throw parts at a problem hoping that one of the new parts you install will fix the problem. You need to follow the published diagnostic tree to trace the source of the problem which could turn out to be a bad oxygen sensor, but you won't know that until you run the diagnostic test.Where are the oxygen sensors located on a 2000 Honda Civic?O2 sensors are usually at the base of the cast iron exhaust manifold.

I believe Honda's have 1 multi-element sensor.

When they go bad its from contaminants , either from an engine burning too much oil , or from the fuels.

Either way , they are not cleanable , spray don't do anything.

Honda's sensors are usually quite expensive.
