How do I find parts for an older Honda cruiser?

I have an 1988 VLX600 Shadow that has low miles and is in great condition, but I would like to make it a little more appealing and confortable for longer rides. I know Honda had OEM parts for customizing the footpegs %26amp; extending them forward. I can no longer find parts listings for this older bikeHow do I find parts for an older Honda cruiser? You may have to search cycle salvage yards. Here is one to try:"Bills cycle salvage"located in White City,Oregon. The "foreward controls" your needing may only be found as a "universal" fit option.Check JC Whitney motorcycle catalog. Some may laugh, but its probably your best bet.Good luck. How do I find parts for an older Honda cruiser?
Like sandmaster said, check the salvage yards.

Lots of accessories go with the cycles when the owner gets rid of it. I got a Vetter fairing for my Yamaha this way. I also got highway bars and pegs for my Honda at the same place.

My local guy is Coopers. mcsalvage.com.

I am now convinced that racefan is totally clueless.

Positioning is very important. How do I find parts for an older Honda cruiser? The VLX is already a good looking bike and comfortable, as well. My missus has ridden mine all over the state. You're going to find that there are not many accessories made for any smaller cruiser. You might check Kuryakn for pegs. How do I find parts for an older Honda cruiser?
'dennis kirk' also has forward controls. every once in a while tc bobbers which has an online store with ebay has forward controls for the older jap bikes. it will be hard though to make it look like it came from the factory with those parts. your best bet is to get something that matches the flair you see in your bike. your comfort is more important than cosmetics. How do I find parts for an older Honda cruiser?Try a firm in the uk called "David Silver spares".They have everything for hondas from the 60s through to the present day.

If you google david silver, you will find their very good website and the parts are all quite reasonable. How do I find parts for an older Honda cruiser?
leave the pegs where they are.

being comfortable has nothing
