I just bought a 2001 Honda Civic today and it didn't come with a keyless entry remote which is something I really need.
If I get a remote meant for my car and program it will my car recognize it? I have power windows. More likely, it never had keyless entry (it wasn't standard on all 2001 civics) so you will have to buy a keyless entry system and have a professional install it as it requires running a bunch of wires and programming the remote to a reiciever as well.
