How much should 94 Honda Accord EX Automatic Transmission and installation cost?
i have a 1994 Honda Accord EX and it needs a new transmission. as of right now the first gear does not work. i took it to a guy i know that is a mechanic for a car dealer, he work on cars on the side at home. he said he'll charge me $1,500 for the new transmission and for the installation. does this sounds fair enough? should i go ahead and have it done? should i go ahead and have him go ahead and start looking for the used transmission? he said that as of right now i should drive the car until it cant be driven and then replace the transmission. just the first gear that doesnt work. Thanks in advance. How much should 94 Honda Accord EX Automatic Transmission and installation cost?Do this. Contact a dealer and get them to give you a quote on the cost to do this work with a factory rebuilt trans. Then knock off a minimum of 1/3 and thats the fair price for the job. This guy is going to hunt around for a used trans.... guaranteed its not going to be factory rebuilt used, but something he had pulled from a salvage yard. Unless he will guarantee the replacement unti for 1 year, I'd be leary or buying lead undies.

Where can i buy the standard body kit for my honda prelude?
Hey everyone, i recently bought a 99 honda prelude and it has some aftermarket body kits on it that dont even fit the car. When i bought it, i figured i could just get the standard body kit and get rid of the aftermarket body kit but on the east side of Atlanta Ga, im having a hard time finding a body shop that would sell those standard body kits. Most of the body shops around me are mainly collision repair shops and paint shops. Where can i get the standard body kit im looking for?? Helppp! Just make sure not to cut any wires that are already running through the grommet. How would i go through the fire wall of a Honda Accord Lx?Well, 0 gauge wire is not small enough to fit through a hole that is already in your firewall.
Sadly, I had to drill a hole in my firewall too...and my power wire was 8 gauge.
You could try to fit it through.
But if you have to drill a hole, make sure you insulate it after.. you will get cold in the winter, and moisture when it rains and premature rusting.

Why today do we need hybrid vehicles to get 45 mpg, when the 1990 Honda Civic was capable of the same?
Cars in the early 90's were smaller and more efficient than today's vehicles. Why are we sold hybrid vehicles as some sort of advancement, when the 1990 Honda Civic was capable of 45 mpg with a conventional motor? What kind of mileage would a 1990 honda Civic hybrid achieve? Your question seems to be a valid one .O.K.,The difference is:People want a new car not one thats 18 years old. New cars have all the new stuff thats cool. They weigh more. They're faster ,smarter, and more reliable than a 90 honda civic. The emmissions from them is almost nonexistent. You probably couldn't use one to kill yourself if you locked yourself in a garage with the motor running. There's gointg to be alot of dissapointed suicidal individuals in the future? The MPG you seem conerned about won"t be Much greater. However the new generation aware of what older cars %26amp; trucks are doing to the enviorment. It makes them feel good that they are driving a "GREEN" car.OH, YEAH :The answer to your question:About 60 MPG.Don't worry you're doing enough for the enviorment by driving a old car.New cars take natural resources to manufacture. Why today do we need hybrid vehicles to get 45 mpg, when the 1990 Honda Civic was capable of the same?Cars in the 90's were light weight with fewer creature comforts, safety features and smaller gas tanks. How can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot?
Hey guys,
I drive a 2003 Honda Pilot 4WD EX-L (used to drive RAV4, but dad made me switch!) This thing basically weighs as much as a dead whale and handles like one, but my biggest complaint with this 5000lb behemoth is its poor gas mileage. My dad expects me to pay for gas, and I really don't wanna start shelling $50+ everytime I gas up (I really put on the miles, driving to school and back, work, etc. Gas prices are above $3.15 in Connecticut). I drive conservatively (don't want a ticket), yet the gas mileage leaves much to be desired.
Is there anything else I can do for more miles from my Pilot? How can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot?Stop going hoggin and bringing home fat chicks. How can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot?
buy a new air filter it should give you a few more mpgHow can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot? As everyone as has keep the tires are the correct pressure. Take anything out of the Pilot that you do not need. If less weight you have the better it will run. Find a route that has less stop lights and keeps you moving. It takes more fuel to get a car moving again then it does to keep it moving. You also have to take in to consideration that when your stopped your getting 0 miles to the gallon. So the less you are stopped the better. Take the time to predict light changes and start to adjust your speed accordingly. You doing pretty much everything else just fine. If you have AC try to only run it while your on the highway. When you get off on to the side streets roll the windows down. Don't run the motor any more then you need too. I shut my engine off when I go to the drive thru at the bank or any drive through. If I see that I am going to be stuck in traffic and it is hardly moving at all. I shut the car down. No point in spending the gas when your not moving. Problem is this is one of Hondas blunders when it came to building a car. I am really disappointed in how they designed this. Like you said it's a Behemoth of a car.
Here are a couple more things you can do. 1) install a "tornado" or similar product. and 2) polarize your fuel's molecules with a magnet. With these 2 things in place, you'll get more miles per gallon without changing your driving habbits. :) Of course, if you drive more conservatively, you'll save even more gas! Check out the sources below. How can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot?make sure the tires are filled to the proper PSI, Buy gas that does not have ethanol even if it costs more. don't drive faster than 55-60 (this will be tough to do) accelerate slowly. That's about it though, even doing all these things won't help too muchHow can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot?
i own a repair shop and some of my customers have asked me the same question before ,you really aren't going to get much mileage from that one, they do fair at best, and this is when there running right, all you can do is keep the fuel and air filter changed in it,and keep it tuned up really good, that's about all you can do for it,they never really got that good of mileage when they was new,and when they get broken in good they don't do much better either, but all i can tell you is keep it tuned, and keep all the tires inflated to where the should be at,and this will help it a lot, over 1 million gallons of gas a year is wasted because of under inflated tires, its hard to believe but its true, and getting worse also, good luck hope this helps.
The #1 thing you can do is drive even more conservatively. Gentle starts, trip linking, and slow down your top speed. Aerodynamic drag really starts stacking up above 50-55mph. I gained 25% fuel economy on my car just by going 50-55 instead of 70.
Also make sure you've removed all the extra dead weight that you possibly can, don't carry junk around.
It's going to be the same amount of money everytime you gas up, but if you get better fuel economy, you'll gas up less often. How can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot?

How important is it to replace bushings on my Honda Civic? What's the cost?
A honda dealer mentioned that my bushings are going bad or need replaced. I've never heard of bushings. What is the purpose of the bushings and about how much does it cost to replace them? My car is not braking differently and I hear no noises. How important is it to replace bushings on my Honda Civic? What's the cost?Depends what bushings they are refering to. All the suspension has rubber bushings to prevent metal on metal rubbing against the body. Most common to go are the rear trailing arm (RTA) Bushings. These are just infront of the rear wheels on the arm connecting the suspension to the body. They can effect tyre wear, and if they collapse will cause the back end to swerve. All this depends on model, miles done and driving conditions. Best to get a independant inspection and go from there. How important is it to replace bushings on my Honda Civic? What's the cost? How many miles and what year is your Civic? I'm getting mine replaced cuz they are cracked after 8 years and 80,000 miles. I knew they were bad a while ago but waited till they cracked to replace em.

I am planning to install dickie seat in my honda crv 2002 model. Is it a good idea?
Has anybody done it in honda and if yes are you satisfied. What happens with the value of car if i have to sell it.I am planning to install dickie seat in my honda crv 2002 model. Is it a good idea?i don't know what made u to think like that.. but of course, i guess ,to accommodate more people..but u can do that if ur aiming children. u can fit that in either front facing or rear facing manner.. if ur family include more than 5 members and ur not going to sell the vehicle now its a good idea .. resale value 'll not be affected as it can be removed safely ..I am planning to install dickie seat in my honda crv 2002 model. Is it a good idea? The seat will have to have a seat belt and the part of the car it is attached to must have the kite safety rating and where and how will you get that. I made eight seat belt kits and fitted them to early Land Rovers and it was possible to lift the vehicle from the fitting-it was so strong ,but the police and the insurance companies would not allow them as the fittings were not up to the construction and use regulations and I had to remove themminn kota

I have a Honda Siviv SI and have problems with a new intake?
I have a Honda Civic SI 2009. I recently installed a new AEM Short Ram intake. I restarted the battery for 24 hrs after installing it, but every 3 days or so the car shuts itself off unless I unplug the battery for another 24 hrs. Some people say that it's not reading the new intake, but it does. What's going on here, and how can I fix this issue?I have a Honda Siviv SI and have problems with a new intake?is there a leak?

How can I find out what year my Z50 Honda Mini Trail is?
My boyfriend was given a Z50 Honda Mini Trail, and I dont know how to tell what year modle it is. After researching a little I believe it is either a '69 or '70. I think the serial number tag has been taken off. Are there any other ways to determine the exact year and model? How can I find out what year my Z50 Honda Mini Trail is?Hi Brat,,,,
Here's a List of Serial Number Ranges
http://www.hondaminitrail.com/z50.html
......................................鈥?br>
It Wont have Your specific Number,OK?
What ya Do is determine which "Group" Yours falls in
For Example:
Z50AK0 1968-69 Z50A-100001~
That's the 1st Number,,,Beginning in '68
Z50AK1 1969-70 Z50A-120088~
These Began in '69
If YOURS is Between #100,001 and 120,088,,,,then it's a 68~69 K0 series.
Thats a range of about 20,000 bikes produced.
You can narrow it down by determining if it's a LOW or Higher Number within the Range.
A #101,650 would almost Certainly be an Early '68
A # 118,200 would almost certainly be a Late '69
I hope that makes sense.
Keep in mind the Production is NOT evenly split,,,,so You can only get "close".
Of the 20,000 68~69's,,,,Maybe 5,000 were 68 and 15,000 were 69??
Or vice versa??
Sorry,I cannot tell you Precisely.
Often it's down to a matter of Comparing YOUR # to another KNOWN example.
Your will be Higher or Lower,,,and you can narrow it down some.

Are there any honda fit models that come with a leather interior?
I'm going to get my first car soon and I've choosen the honda fit. It's the perfect car for me. The only problem is that alot of them come with cloth interiors and I prefer leather. Are there any honda fit models that come with a leather interior? There is no standard leather or leather option on the Fit/Jazz, your only real choice is aftermarket leather, some dealerships can handle this though so it is worth asking them, if not find an auto upholstery company.

How do you set the time on a 2004 Honda Accord?
I purchased a 2004 Honda Accord from Carmax, but it didn't come with an owner's manual (strange, i know). Ever since the daylight savings time-switch, my clock has been off an hour. How can you disable the alarm on a 2004 Honda Odyssey?
The security system recently seemed to change on our 2004 Honda Odyssey. It now automatically locks the doors after exiting the van. It originally did not do this and did not "chirp" when being locked. Any ideas on how to go back to the quiet version? How can you disable the alarm on a 2004 Honda Odyssey? The chirp means it's alarmed... usually when it doesn't chip, it means it's locked, but not alarmed. Someone would be able to break into the car easier if it's quiet.

How much would it cost to fix the following Honda Civic parts?
I recently wrecked my 1998 Honda Civic 2 door and I was hoping to figure out if it'd be worth it to get it fixed. I looked up the cost of the parts and they can probably be had even cheaper from a junkyard, but how much would labor cost?
Destroyed parts:
Front left fender
Front left headlight assembly/turn signal
Hood
Damaged:
I think a power steering hose, though I can't easily get the hood open so the whole assembly could be dead.
Thanks in advance. How much would it cost to fix the following Honda Civic parts? Some stickers will fix that and give it 300+ HP!!!

Where can you get factory training to work on Honda motorcycles?
Is there a Honda factory in the USA that trains people to work on late model bikes?Where can you get factory training to work on Honda motorcycles?you will need to go to mmi. american honda does not offer motorcycle mechanic training to people off the street. most of the mechanics went to mmi first.Where can you get factory training to work on Honda motorcycles?MMI is where you get factory certified.....I did. Thats the only place you can get full factory training for Honda, and you also get Honda watercraft certifications while you are there. You receive MANY Honda certifications at MMI, including Bronze level, silver and gold level tech if you complete the 6 month training, plus you get certified in small engines (mowers/generators-powersport) and you work hands on with all Honda products and bikes. I have over 20 Honda certifications in JUST motorcycles and ATV training, and I am a silver level tech (which you get after you complete the MMI courses and work for Honda for 5 years). All the certified Honda mechanics (99% of them) went to MMI, and its ALL hands on Honda training. Also ALL hands on for all the other makes as well HD, Kawi, Yamaha, Suzuki, and BMW. They have separate courses for each make, and they are all factory certifications, and the curriculum for Honda is SENT to MMI from Honda.
Heres a pic of one of the classrooms for Honda at MMI in Phoenix. They simulate the Honda dealerships work bays to train the students in an environment that replicates a Honda service shop.

How can I tell if I need a thermostat or a new water pump for my 94 Honda Accord?
The engine is overheating after about thirty minutes of driving.
The oil and anti-freeze levels are fine.
The top radiator hose gets hot, as does the radiator itself.
The heater works fine, blows hot air.
From advice I received, I am gambling on changing the thermostat, but would like to be sure I'm not wasting time and money.
Also, does anyone know of any links which have videos or diagrams of how to change a 94 Honda Accord thermostat?
Thanks! How can I tell if I need a thermostat or a new water pump for my 94 Honda Accord?start with a thermostat and see.
all you have to do is start at the top hose on your radiator and follow it to the top of your engine. under that spot of the hose is the thermostat. loosen that and take out the thermostat.
Make sure you Have a thermostat and gasket Prior to taking it apart, unless u have another way to an auto store.

What different engines can you put in a 1993 Honda accord lx sedan?
i want to swap my old 2.2 liter motor with a new one. i would like to know the different types of Honda motors and the best choice for my car. i have found a crate motor from japan with low miles. The motor i found has 30,000 miles on it but, the motor is a crate motor from japan and my friend told me the motors there are not good because of stop and go driving as well as a lot of idle miles on the engine. Any help would be happily appreciated..What different engines can you put in a 1993 Honda accord lx sedan? It all depends on what you want. The H22 motors are the best performance wise you can swap. i had one in a 92 prelude and they have vtec and dohc. they have plenty of acceleration at high rpms. the vtec kicks in at around 5000 rpms and it pulls u back in your seat. i miss itWhat different engines can you put in a 1993 Honda accord lx sedan? It goes from this JDM F20, F22B DOHC no vtec pretty much the same thing as you F22a1, H22-vtec, H23vtec came in accord wagons 99+, H23 non vtec, k20,k24. depends on your money check cb7tuner.comword twist
What are some cheap ways to make my 2000 Honda Accord run better and faster?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord and i wanted to know if there were any cheap ways to make it run better and faster ?What are some cheap ways to make my 2000 Honda Accord run better and faster?Modifying cars is not a cheap hobby. Lucky for you that you have one of the cheapest cars to modify. Honda makes some great cars and thus they sell a lot. That is also why Honda has very large aftermarket support. There are many companies that make products for the Accord. Unfortunately if you are looking for serious power gains it is hard to come by unless you are ready to spend some big money.
Bolt-Ons are your best bet here. Intake, exhaust, and headder. AEM makes some of the best intakes for the money. They are a little pricy compared to E-Bay intakes and all but always remember when working on a car, you get what you pay for. AEMs intakes are engineered for the car. Make sure to get a CAI (Cold Air Intake) as opposed to a "Short Ram". Short ram intakes will give you slightly better throttle response but not real power. That is cased because of many reasons including the fact that they are sucking up hotter air from the engine bay. But the issue with CAIs is that they can injest water in bad flood situations which can hydrolock your engine making it useles.
Exhaust has multiple parts to it. You can change your Exhaust Muffler for a better flowing one and also you can change your pipes to 2.25 inch pipes. This will help a little.
Headder is another thing to get. I would sudgest a 4-2-1 headder as opposed to the 4-1 headder. That will give you the power in mid range as opposed to high range.
With these boltons you may gain about 10 HP or so. Not too much.
Another thing is tires. Make sure you have the correct size for what you are doing.
If you want more power then you would be looking into cams and valve jobs and eventually into forced induction which is not cheap. What are some cheap ways to make my 2000 Honda Accord run better and faster?
give it to the garage person and ask them =]. most pro way and best accurateWhat are some cheap ways to make my 2000 Honda Accord run better and faster? The best thing you can do for the money, hands down, is an improved intake. You can go with a k%26amp;n drop in filter, or a cold air or short ram intake, the best being a short ram intake with a cold air source. Another cheap, actually free, thing you can do is reduce the weight of the car. You can remove sound deadening, air conditioning, spare tire, ect. Every pound counts. The single best and cheapest handling upgrade are stickier tires, although you will have a trade off of increased tire wear. Switch to synthetic oil. That really sums up the inexpensive ways to noticibaly improve your car. From then on it starts getting more and more exspensive. What are some cheap ways to make my 2000 Honda Accord run better and faster?
i wont give you a lecture on how parts work and what parts do what to a car... ill just get down to the nitty gritty...
#1 - Cold Air Intake (acceleration++)
http://www.f5air.com/e_com/fuji3.html
#2 - Exhaust system (muffler[+]) will add 5-15 horsepower
www.anywhereonline.com
for about 200 dollars that will make your car run a lot smoother and faster...What are some cheap ways to make my 2000 Honda Accord run better and faster?Changing gear and braking use more petrol (obviously brake if you need to though). Don't drive with the window down and remove excess weight as that reduces petrol consumption. Also buy petrol or diesel X from halfords etc as that makes it quicker and more economical, so would buying super unleaded/diesel instead of premiumWhat are some cheap ways to make my 2000 Honda Accord run better and faster?
buy a cold air intake and a header. both cheap. and lvl 1 mods. catback exhaust if your serious
If you want inexpensive mods, try getting a better air filter or cold intake kit from K%26amp;N. Also, making some changes in the exhaust system would work as well. This could include a new muffler or new pipe from the exhaust manifold back or both. It just depends on your budget. You could also get a new computer chip or programmer.

#1 - Cold Air Intake (acceleration++)

How do I get the best price on a Honda Civic?
I have a honda ridgeline now, and want ti trade it in for a Civic.
How do I get the best price for a civic? I notices that there is a MSRP price and the sales price, its always $3000 - $5000 more then MSRP. How can I get the BEST ptice? How do I get the best price on a Honda Civic? We just checked out the internet prices of the dealer by us (we have a Pilot and are thinking of trading it in). Their internet price is about 17k for the LX, and 18500 for the EX. The dealer you're looking seems to be playing on the popularity of the civic during the current gas crunch to go over the MSRP. Ours is a really popular dealer in a big town, and under the MSRP on their internet prices.
You can subscribe to consumer reports real car prices. I think it's about $20 for six weeks, and will give you the true cost dealers in your area pay for ANY vehicle. This is a fantastic tool to take into the dealership with you.
Best of luck! I hope it works out for you. We're still trying to decide. :)How do I get the best price on a Honda Civic?I'm so happy for you! Glad you got the car at a great price! :)
Your best tool for car shopping is right in front of you. Use the internet to your advantage. After you have decided on a make and model of car you want, go to the manufacturers web site. there will be a section to 'build and price' your car. Go through all the steps. Then, after, you will be prompted to enter an information request, search local inventory - something like that. go ahead and fill that out too.
Within 48 hours, you will be contacted by the internet sales rep for every dealer in you rmarket area. Internet reps can usually cut to the best deal without a lot of hassle - they know that you are shopping multiple dealers, so they have to. Be sure that you are looking at TOTAL prices. Some dealers may have a cheaper car, but charge higher doc fees. So get your best price out the door.
With that done, get your loan set up online as well. Check lendingtree.com, eloan.com, capitalone.com for the best lender resources. If you have edgy credit, go to roadloans.com or drivetime.com. You can get preapproved for the best deal for you.
When you contact the dealer. tell them you have financing arranged. They will offer to meet or beat it. If they can, let them. Then y ou all win. If they cant then you already have the best financing in your pocket.
Lastly, when it comes to extras, the only thing I recommend is gap insurance. if you are in an accident or the car is stolen your insurance will only pay so much. If you owe more than that, you are required to pay the difference. Gap will pay that shortfall so you dont have to. I had a friend who was on the hook for $9k after he totaled his car - so I have been a fan of GAP ever since.
Doing those three things will help you shop smart. An informed customer can make sure that he makes sound decisions, and get the best possible deal
Cheers - good luck!

How do I get the best price on a Honda Civic?well the MSRP is usually a base price. so tipically the sales price will be a little more then the MSRP depending on the features. for a civic there are atleast three models (depending on year). there is the DX, LX, and EX. they increase in price respectively because they offer more features then the one below it. the EX is the most expensive and usually a better buy. try looking up how much the civic is worth on kelleybluebook.com. this will help you get an idea of how much they should really cost. if the kbb price is lower then the dealers asking price then print it off and bring it to your dealer. also try to get more out of your ridgeline. that will help increase your down payment. remember the dealer just wants to get a sale. So if you show interest in buying the civic they will usually try to work with you to get that sale. stand firm and dont let them control the sale. if it is necesary then say no thanks and leave. they will usually call you back if they have your number. if its a used car then check for ANY and ALL damage to the vehicle. also try looking at different dealers. many will try to compete with one another to get your money. good luck and good choice with the civic. the civic is my favorite car. it wont let you down! How do I get the best price on a Honda Civic?Your best tool for car shopping is right in front of you. What does the Honda color abbreviation BU stand for?
I was thinking blue, but Honda has 2 different blue colors (royal and atomic). Does anyone know specifically what color BU is?What does the Honda color abbreviation BU stand for?BU will be the Atomic Blue
Civic BU= Atomic Blue
BL= Royal Blue Pearl
What does the Honda color abbreviation BU stand for?Where are you finding this abbreviation? if you go to the honda website you'll find the colors available for each specific model
http://www.hondacars.com
the civic does come in both atomic and royal blues. if the reference is in an ad then call the dealer to see which color it is.
that might eliminate some of the possibiliteis between the different blues

How much does it cost to register a 1989 honda crx in california ?
it is a 1.5 Liter Honda CRX DX. Just wondering what the price range would be.How much does it cost to register a 1989 honda crx in california ?it is a small percentage of the purchase price of the vehicle if im not mistaken. its an older vehicle so it should be very cheap and if its an 89' I dont think you should be paying more than $500 for it.
How much would it cost to add a clear coat to my paint on a 2008 Honda Element?
I just bought a used Honda Element, and refused the $700 clear coat from the dealer because I figure I can get it cheaper on my own. How much would it cost, on average? How much would it cost to add a clear coat to my paint on a 2008 Honda Element? What you turned down was a "paint sealant" not a clear coat. It is just a high priced teflon based wax. You can buy a lot of good wax for $700.How much would it cost to add a clear coat to my paint on a 2008 Honda Element? It already has clear coat on it. All modern cars that don't have an explicitly flat finish have clear coat over the paint. How much would it cost to add a clear coat to my paint on a 2008 Honda Element?A 3 year old car shouldn't need a 'clear coat' unless the paint was damaged. The dealer was probably offering you a $700 wax job. You did right in refusing it.
Can a 2007 honda pilot pull a 2 horse trailer?
I have a 2007 Ex 4 wheel drive honda pilot. Can it haul a trailer fit for 2 horses? Can a 2007 honda pilot pull a 2 horse trailer? It's trailer towing capacity is rated at 3,500 lbs. So I suggest you find out what the trailer + horses will weigh before throwing it on your car. 3,500 lbs is about the weight of many of todays Sedans. Can a 2007 honda pilot pull a 2 horse trailer?Itll do it, just don't try to climb too many large hills. I've seen several ppl here in the Midwest that pull horse trailers with Trailblazers and such so I don't think its a big risk. Just don't go into overdrive and don't try to tackle hills.
Is there a difference between getting an oil change at GoodYear and the Honda dealer?
It's time to get an oil change on my Honda but the dealer charges $30.
I got a coupon for GoodYear for a $12 oil change.
Does Goodyear use cheaper oil then the Honda dealer? Is there a difference between getting an oil change at GoodYear and the Honda dealer?Well, maybe go and inquire to both people what oil they use. If it's Mobil One, Pennzoil, or any other high quality brand, then go to the cheaper place. If not, just stick with Honda. Is there a difference between getting an oil change at GoodYear and the Honda dealer?
It's pretty safe to assume that just about anywhere you go other than a dealer will be cheaper.
The only way to know the type of oil they use is to ask at where ever you have the oil change done.
Generally, it's not good to go to any of the chain type auto service places. Independent shops are the best.Is there a difference between getting an oil change at GoodYear and the Honda dealer?Changing your own oil will save you even more. It's not brain surgery. You will need 4 to 5 quarts of oil and an oil filter.
The coupon is a good deal though. I'd take it if I were you.Is there a difference between getting an oil change at GoodYear and the Honda dealer?
Major brands of engine oil ALL have to meet manufacturers test limits, so they are all basically good. So no, save the $$$ %26amp; go to Goodyear. Just don't be surprised if they 'Find' another problem ....Is there a difference between getting an oil change at GoodYear and the Honda dealer? The dealer is always more expensive, I am not sure what kind of oil goodyear uses where you are but as long as it is synthetic then you are fine. Honda actually uses genuine honda motor oil and I hate it.
It either don't last as long or is crap because it is way blacker at changing time (On TIme)
I now use Castrol synthetic and when I change it on time it is not a bad, bad color.
I would take it to good year, as long as it syntheticIs there a difference between getting an oil change at GoodYear and the Honda dealer?
most quicklube services use subpar oil filters and low quality oils
factory oil filters will almost always be better
You could go to the cheaper place but I would recomend taking your own oil. I was told by my technician that the oil in the bottles is way better then it coming out of the tank. Also Honda may charge more but they also are better equipped to know what problems may have and tell you about them since they only work on hondas.

I m Planning to buy a Honda unicorn does it vibrate a lot at high speeds?
I had a Hero Honda Splendor. which has been sold Now planning to buy a bike which one Honda Unicorn or Yamaha SX R disc brakes. hence the query? How about vibrations in these bike. which one is better of the two?I m Planning to buy a Honda unicorn does it vibrate a lot at high speeds?Hello,
Honda unicorn is a good bike. Very very silent engine.
I have rode it. If power is not your priority, sure you go for unicorn.(Its the slowest among 150cc bikes!)
And yes, if you dont go above 80km/hr, its a good bike. When it touches 90, it starts vibrating like a small 100 cc bike.
If you are honda freak, You have an option of new facelifted Hunk(Do check reviews for vibrations before).I m Planning to buy a Honda unicorn does it vibrate a lot at high speeds? With Unicorn idea spead without vibration will be 55-60. however higher spead around 75 you will feel vibration. Also it will depend on you individual live load or dual accupancy. Honda Will be better option than YamhaI m Planning to buy a Honda unicorn does it vibrate a lot at high speeds?whoa, Honda makes unicorns? Where can I buy one of those!!?
wait, they don't just take regular ponies and glue horns to their foreheads, do they?I m Planning to buy a Honda unicorn does it vibrate a lot at high speeds?
yamaha bikes have low vibrations.also you will like the engine sound in high torquekayaks

What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?
I want to buy a car with NOT high mileage, but different people tell me things like " 50,000 miles on a Buick is not the same as 50,000 miles on a Japanese car." Could someone please explain this to me? If I buy a Buick, what is considered good mileage and what is bad? If buy a Toyota or a Honda, what is considered low mileage and what is considered high? Thanks. What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?toyota 100k
american 30,000What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?
There are a lot of variables in your question. Almost any car has high mileage if it is 75,000 miles or higher. It doesn't matter if it is a Asian (Korea and China makes cars too), European, or American car. Year plays a factor as well. For example, a 1995 with 60k miles would be considered great mileage on a car (Since most people put close to 12k miles a year on their car. Ergo 168k miles would be the norm).
Reliability is a completely different factor. Recently it's been noted that all three American car companies have had a big boost in quality of product. Toyota even fell a little in the last couple years (Lexus with their zip tied floor mats).
As a general rule, low mileage should be considered anywhere from 24k-40k miles on a car (personal preference). If the car is new enough and the mileage is low enough it could still be covered under warranty. 36K mile bumper to bumper, 50-60k power-train (engine, transmission, drive shaft or CV-joints, etc).
The easiest way to determine mileage is simply 12k a year for how many years since it's production. An 2006 with 36k miles (like my car) is average miles. Anything below that would be considered low mileage, anything over that is high mileage. What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?In general,Toyotas and Hondas are known to be more reliable than American cars. While buying a used car, its more important to see how the car has been maintained by the previous owner, than just the mileage figures.Ask for service records, which would give a fair idea of how the car had been maintained.
Cars driven appox 13K-14k miles a year are considered average driven, below 10k a year are less mileage and above 20k a year is high .So if you are looking at 5yr Toyota Camry/accord it would be fine even if its 70-75K driven or even more ,as they are proven cars.
For a Buick ,ideally u should find one thats less driven. What is considered low milegage for a Toyota or Honda? What is considered low mileage for an American car?

I bought a used car and found in the records that there was once a remote start installed, but there was no documentation about taking it out. Can a 2000 Honda Civic handle a HID kit without a relay harness?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX and plan on installing an 8000k HID kit. I have researched around and it is not necessary to have a relay harness, but there is a chance of making the stock harness stop working. For anyone that owns a 97-00 Civic, can your stock harness handle the HID kit without a relay harness? Can a 2000 Honda Civic handle a HID kit without a relay harness?Hey friend, an H.I.D kit consists of a set of ballasts (bulbs), wiring harnesses and ignitor boxes. In order for the kit to properly work on your vehicle, you have to have all three componets. There is no way around it. If you try to hardwire it into your current headlight harness, you can potentially fry your electrical system. Even cars like BMW, Benz, Range Rover whatever that have HIDs or Xenon lights have those three componets. Your working with your car here. Why shortcut something and risk destroying your project and transportation? Hope this helps happy tuning.

What grade level gas is best for a 2002 Honda Odyssey?
Is it cheaper to use premium gas than regular gas (less cost per mile) on a 2002 Honda Odyssey? No owners manual is readily available. What grade level gas is best for a 2002 Honda Odyssey? You should be using regular gas, there won't be any difference on cost per mile since the Odyssey doesn't have a high compression engine or has a Supercharger/Turbo. Stick with the regular gas. What grade level gas is best for a 2002 Honda Odyssey?I believe it uses regular gas and in case you didn't know, premium over regular, if your car doesn't need it, will save you NOTHING. The difference between regular and premium is nothing more than the octane rating NOTHING ELSE. The octane rating is something used for the ignition temperature of the fuel. High compression engines must use it to prevent damage to the cylinder chamber and all related parts. If your car is designed for regular, use it and save a ton of money. Look on the gas cap cover or on your fuel gage to see what is required.

How can I find a comfortable passenger seat for Honda VTX1300s ?
We just got a Honda Vtx1300s and put a touring package on it. We rode today for about 100 miles, but after about 30 or so miles the passenger gets a rough ride. Passenger's butt gets numb and painful, and have to reposition several times to relieve pressure.. Is there any passenger seat that would be comfortable that would fit our bike, that is not too expensive..?How can I find a comfortable passenger seat for Honda VTX1300s ?You could try a gel seat pad before you spend the big bucks on a new seat. There's some on the JC Whitney website, and they also sell seats. The link is below. I'm also putting the link for Corbin, who makes high quality seats but they'll be more expensive than the stuff from Whitney. How can I find a comfortable passenger seat for Honda VTX1300s ?You might think about embedding a gel pad in the seat's foam, too. You'd have the benefit of the gel pad without the added seat height.

http://www.saddlemen.com/gelpads.htmlHow can I find a comfortable passenger seat for Honda VTX1300s ?It's always amazed me that the Japanese can make such a good, reliable bike and put a crappy seat on it. Even the gel pad will cause you to shift in the seat I'm afraid. The reason your butt gets numb is because you are putting so much pressure in one spot. The little pillion you are sitting on simply doesn't have enough square inches of support for our butts. If you increase the area or size of the passenger seat then your problem is on the way to being solved. If you look at any aftermarket touring seat you will notice the passenger pillion is much bigger than the stock seat. That's what you need to do...buy a larger seat. I had the same problem you're having until my BF replaced his stock seat with an aftermarket one. Yes, it will cost ya some money but in the long run it's a one time purchase and worth every penny if your butt doesn't hurt after riding all day. I've ridden the same make of bike as a passenger on both a Corbin and a Mustang. Buy the Mustang seat. Much better. Just one rider/passenger's opinion.

Is the new Honda navigation system worth upgrading so soon?
I have a 2010 Honda with a navigation system version 6.81A in it. I received info on upgrading it to the 2011 version which is V6.92. Is it worth spending the money to upgrade it already? Does anyone know the difference in these two versions? I would like the latest version because there are some metro areas that after construction do not show up on the navi but if it is minor in difference, I do not want to spend the money. Can anyone help me?Is the new Honda navigation system worth upgrading so soon?If there has been tons of construction in your area, it's usually a good idea to update the disc. I was told by Honda that the "average" person, i.e. non real estate agent, only needs to update the disc every 3-5 years, but the construction part wasn't taken into consideration in that statement. If it were me, I would wait until next year's update to insure that the disc includes the new metro areas.

Is the 2001 Honda Civic 2dr LX considered a sports car?
I am gonna be getting a car soon and the car i always wanted was the 2001 Honda Civic 2dr Lx and my dad is giving me loads of crap about it 2dr cars. My dad thinks that "ALL" 2 dr cars are sports cars.Is the 2001 Honda Civic 2dr LX considered a sports car?if it has 2 seats, it's usually considered a sports car, but some insurance companies consider 2 door cars sports carsIs the 2001 Honda Civic 2dr LX considered a sports car?Well, it's definitely not a sports car. It is possible insurance might be higher if it's a coupe. A 2dr car is a coupe, not a sports car. Why have you wanted an LX? EX is the better model and shouldn't be too hard to find since Hondas are so common. I had a '02 Civic EX coupe, and it was very nice. Since it's already 7 years old, a '01 EX shouldn't cost you more money either; you could probably pick one up with around 70,000 miles for $7,000.00.Is the 2001 Honda Civic 2dr LX considered a sports car?The LX is a basic model, or any doubts ask your insurance company.

What is the blue book value of a 1995 honda civic?
I just purchased a 4 door 1995 Honda Civic and am wondering what the blue book value of it is before I register it.What is the blue book value of a 1995 honda civic?the answer depends on where you live and the model of the car as well as the mileage and equipment on the car as prices vary around the country.

registration usually includes sales tax.........in which case it doesn't matter at all what its worth, only what you paid for itWhat is the blue book value of a 1995 honda civic?I know in Ontario you pay taxes on the book value. It doesn't matter how much you paid for the car. If the book says you pay this much taxes then you must pay this much unless you can prove(by appraisal) that the true value of the car is actually lower than of the book's. the book sets values of a car by the year and mileage.
If you think you paid well under the book value, it's a good idea to have the car appraised for its true value. If the appraised value is less than the book's value then it's better for you, pay less tax. If you know someone who do the appraisal you can ask him/her to write down the price of your car as low as possible. You know, BRIBERY WORKS! I did it before. Or you can find out about the value of your car by purchasing a Used Vehicle Information Package($12) from your local Licensing Office, St. John. The package contains all the informations you need to know about the car's history, previous owner(s), accident, lien, and value. What is the blue book value of a 1995 honda civic?

registration usually includes sales tax.........in which case it doesn't matter at all what its worth, only what you paid for itWhat is the blue book value of a 1995 honda civic?I know in Ontario you pay taxes on the book value.

Please help, thanks! How does the door panel come off to replace the driver's side mirror of my honda civic 2004?You should buy or make a window w handle release tool and buy a door panel removal tool You will need to remove the screws from behind the door handle pocket and under the armrest and look for any others. If you have manual windows you can make a crank release tool out of a bent coat hanger. Cut it to about 15 inches and put a 90o bend on one end then push the plastic washer back and turn the crank till you see the horseshoe part of the clip facing upward then insert the tool and pull the clip up till it comes off. Snap the clip back onto the handle to prevent loss. Double check for any screws then using a panel removal tool gently pry the door panel back then insert a pencil into the gap and locate the clips then gently remove them by pry with the toolHow does the door panel come off to replace the driver's side mirror of my honda civic 2004?Look below at some of the other answers on this issue

What company makes Honda Unicorn Dazzlers rear disk pads except genuine?
Hi this is Siddhartha from orissa ,I owned a Honda Unicorn Dazzler bike,in which the rear brake is disc type, and i am facing a lot of problem for its brake pads, the genuine pads are not available in the dealer points,so i want to know whether any other brake pad manufacturing company makes the brake pads for this bike model and where i can get that. Please reply. What company makes Honda Unicorn Dazzlers rear disk pads except genuine?Normally brake pads have a very healthy life. However it is possible that you are not relying on the front brake for your stopping duties. Under normal circumstances, you should be using the front brake for 70% of the time and the rear unit only 30% of the time.
If used in the above manner, the bike will stop faster and the wear will be distributed evenly and hence ensure a longer life. Try it. Meanwhile contact other authorized dealers also for your requirement, even if they are little further away from your residence. What company makes Honda Unicorn Dazzlers rear disk pads except genuine? If you owned it in the past, not sure why you still need pads for it, but I digress.
There are hundreds of brake manufacturers in the world. At least one of them will make the pads you desire. Check BikeBandit, or your country's equivalent website.forza motorsport 3

How does the Honda Ridgeline perform off road?
I know this is kind of comparing apples to oranges but I am in a toss up between a Toyota Tundra and a Honda Ridgeline. Toyota has had a long history of off-road performance but the Ridgeline is a good looking vehicle. I want to take my next vehicle off-roading so it needs to be able to handle some upgrades as well as some tough trails. How does the Honda Ridgeline perform off road?Toyota Tundra is a real performer off-road. The Toyota Tundra would be the better choice for off road since it has a true frame and is not a unibody like the Ridgeline. The Ridgeline appeals to people who need the utility of a pickup and the on the road features of a car. The Ridgeline is a good vehicle and the link below shows that it does off some off road ability. How does the Honda Ridgeline perform off road? The Ridgeline is a very good vehicle, but the Tundra is a real truck. Tundras are overpriced, so shop the Nissan Titan before you overspend. The brake vibration issue they has in 04-05 has been fixed. How does the Honda Ridgeline perform off road?
The Ridgeline should not even be considered a truck. To Honda, off-road means it has stiff suspension, that is it. If you get stuck in mud or anything, good luck. I drove a Tundra in an off-road course and it rocked it, it was amazing. The Ridgeline seriously is horrible all the way around, they are not selling too well either.
Most pickups perform the same way offroad. There are hardly any differences so you could buy any pickup you want for offroading because they all have the same power and offroad technology. How does the Honda Ridgeline perform off road?
NISSAN TITAN PERFORMED MUCH BETTER IN OFFROAD TEST BUT THE NEW TUNDRA IS KING OF ALL TRUCKS, IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE JUST GO HEAD AND TEST DRIVE IT...

What should I expect to pay for a 2009 Honda Accord EX?
Fully loaded. I will be paying with a check for the full amount. I want a good deal, without a bunch of time involved. Any suggestions on how to bypass the haggling with a dealer, and get close to the suggested retail price of the Kelly Blue Book? I think dealerships are hurting, and I'd like to get an excellent deal on a Honda Accord. What should I expect to pay for a 2009 Honda Accord EX?Are you looking for fully loaded or the EX? Are you looking for the 4 or 6 cylinder?
Fully loaded will be an EX-L Navi in either the V6 or the 4 cylinder. This will be as high as you can go without adding any accessories.
I would suggest submitting online inquiries. Dealing with Internet managers is meant to save you time and skip the haggle crap everybody wants to avoid. If you belong to a buying service you could save even more over the internet price.
If you contacted me I would tell you under $26k for the 4 cyl. and under $27 for the V6. Then add tax, tags, title and processing. Both of these cars would have leather, blue tooth and navigation. What should I expect to pay for a 2009 Honda Accord EX?It depends. An Accord EX with all the bells and whistles, including a 6 cylinder engine, GPS, leather heated seats and fog lights will probably cost you about $26,000. But the sad state of the economy and poor car sales places you in the position to bargain for a lower price.

How to diagnose your front turning lights of a honda civic?
I have a 2003 honda civic hybrid, my problem on my left side turning light doesn't stay on when headlights are on, it works when I turn on the left signal light it flashes and other than that headlights, back lights and emergency flashers work properly. is it the light bulb? oh i did take off the light bulb and put back to see if it had a loose connection but that wasn't it.How to diagnose your front turning lights of a honda civic? It sounds like you have a 2 filament bulb and one of the filaments is broken. Is Mitsubishi competitive enough to beat the ever reliable Honda and Toyota?
Honda and Toyota always come at the top of the Consumers' and Editor's Most Wanted list. I think Mitsubishi is just underrated. I need to know if there are lots of people out there who agree with me.Is Mitsubishi competitive enough to beat the ever reliable Honda and Toyota?ok lets put some of the misinformation to rest. Mitsubishi Motors owns the largest bank in the world, they built their first vehicle in 1917 way before Honda and Toyota were even thought of. many of the safety innovations in Honda's and Toyota's were actually invented by Mitsubishi. Traction Control was first built by Mitsubishi, the air bag was developed by Mitsubishi, the anti lock brake, the R.I.S.E Chassis. Mitsubishi is actually the official auto manufacturer of the Japanese government, the planes that decimated pearl harbor were built by Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi has won more world rally championships than any other car company and has won the Dakar Rally a total of 11 times at one point they won 9 in a row. world wide Mitsubishi is one of the most popular vehicles on earth. the amazing toyota has had more recalls in the last three years than they have sold cars. the level of engineering that goes into a mitsubishi is far superior to anything else out there. the warranty is a 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain, 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper. which can be extended to a 10 100,000 bumper to bumper. car and driver consumer digest rates them very very high every year, if you check edmunds.com actual buyers of the cars rate them very very high. the engine performance and handling cues are unlike anything you will ever experience. they are not kidding when they say driven to thrill. and they are in no financial danger what soever. unless you ask other car manufacturers who tend to be afraid of what mits brings to table in terms of driving enjoyment and vehicle features. Is Mitsubishi competitive enough to beat the ever reliable Honda and Toyota?
history is fine, but the fact remains that AUTOMOBILES built by Mitsubishi STILL are not nearly as reliable as Toyotas and Hondas.
Those 100000 mile warranties are a sign of desperation, and may well put them out of business.

If anything Mitsu is overrated. Their sales dont compare with Honda and Toyota, and their build quality is sub par at best. The eclipses had issues with their window seal melting in the heat. Lancers brake pads last maybe 15k miles. And their reliablilty is not even close. No, They are not being overlooked, they are just poor cars.
No. Mitsubishi still has a long way to go to catch up. Everyone I know who owns a Mitsubishi auto has complaints. Is Mitsubishi competitive enough to beat the ever reliable Honda and Toyota?
Mitsubishi has a very tough road. They aren't in the same financial situation as the other two and don't seem to be able to put out a lineup of cars that inspire people. Part of it might be their dealer group. Most Honda and Toyota dealers have nice building, professional staff, clean, good service area while most Mitsubishi dealers seem to be one step above used car dealers.
I would say that they were competitive in the sales area, but as far as comfort safety and reliability, go with a Toyota.

I own a 2000 montero sport with 94000 miles on it. It has been the best most rugged car that I have ever owned. I live in central Illinois so it gets tested every winter. I will be dissappointed if I dont get 300000 miles out of it. Just keep up on maintainance and a Mits will go for as long as you want it to.
I have a mitsubishi powered car, and I have had good luck with it in the 5 years that I have had it...however, mitsubishi has been having SEVERE financial issues over the past few years, so they are already at a disadvantage against honda and especially toyota.
