What is the first service miles for a Honda Accord?

Hi. I have a new Honda Accord with 2000 miles on it. I wanted to know when it should be serviced first and what should be the service schedule to be followed. Thanks. What is the first service miles for a Honda Accord?service for any vehicle is 3000 miles or 3 months, which ever comes first.

here is a sie exactly from honda that shows with details what to service at certain miles.

http://www.hondabeat.com/maintenance.phpWhat is the first service miles for a Honda Accord?Your Honda Accord has a maintenance reminder that becomes activated as following:

1) For the first 6,000 miles, it will light for two seconds when the car is started (normal light test).

2) Between 6,000 miles and 7,500 miles, the light will come on solid for two seconds after turning the key to ON, then flash for 8 seconds.

2) After 7,500 miles, the light stays on constantly.

As far as regular maintenance is concerned, change your oil every 3months/3000 miles, whichever comes first. Your brakes come with a feature invented by Honda, which is a u shaped metal piece in your breaks that will make noise when your pads get thin enough. Aside of making sure that there is no dirt or dust accumulation that causes the squeaky noise, take your Accord in for new brake pads(and check your rotors while you're at it, they might need to get turned).

You don't need to flush your transmission every 15,000 miles, but rather every 35,000 to 50,000 miles. The coolant flush interval should be every 50,000 miles.

Regarding your maintenance reminder, it kicks in at those interval because it is pre-programmed to remind you, not because there is something wrong with your vehicle. When it starts to show up, and you know your car has been taken care of, you may wish to manually deactivate it, the same way mechanics to it for you at the service center or dealership. Do do so, you have to follow these steps:

1) Make sure your engine is turned off, keys are not inserted and your lights are turned off.

2) Press on the mileage/trip reset button by your odometer and keep pressing it. While you're pressing it, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to "II" position(which turns on the electric current to your car and if you have radio/music turned on, it will play). But don't start the car, which is in "III."

3) Keep pressing the trip reset button for 10-15 seconds after turning the key to II and then turn the key back as if you're leaving the car and taking the keys with you(in other words, turn everything completely off).

4) Turn the car back on, including starting the engine and you will see that the maintenance required indicator is now disabled. You will have to do this next time when the indicator kicks in.

It's straightforward and simple, yet so many people don't know this. I hope this helps you and don't get nervous when you see the maintenance light come on. It's only a pre-set reminder. If you see a check engine light on, then you probably have issues.

Good luck and congratulations on your amazing purchase. Accords are incredible vehicles and I'm confident it will treat you right for many years to come.

What is the first service miles for a Honda Accord?Im a honda tech, I know your accord has a maintance minder on it, but I would still change the oil every 3,000 miles and do a tranny drain and fill every 15,000 along with the hepa filter and engine filter, Flush the brakes every 30,000 miles and and coolant every 45,000
