07 Honda Shadow Tires- is it ok to have a different tread pattern on the back tire?
Just got a nail in my tire and you can't get the tires from dunlap you have to get them from Honda at $200, my question is can I get another brand for the rear. Youre perfectly fine as long as its the same size and at the same pressure. Yes and No. He is trying to sell tires, but he's probably right, if the tread is different it will track different. At our shop we try to sell sets, especially on sportbikes.
However, if the tread is really similar and the bike isn't being ridden to it's limits, you probably won't notice. Especially if the tread wear is close to minimal on the front.
