What kind of wine should I serve with raclette?

I would prefer a red wine, on the cheaper side, and I will be serving it with fontina cheese instead of traditional raclette, because where I live, you can't really find raclette cheese.

Any suggestions?

Also would love to have some suggestions other than meat on things to serve alongside the raclette and bread. Thanks! :]What kind of wine should I serve with raclette?
Classic Red or Cabernet Franc. Both are very wonderful with raclette. If you are looking for something more tastier to go with Fontina then i would prefer Nebbiolo, Chianti or Vouvray. Chianti is a little spicier but if you like your wine to have more essence to it i would go with Vouray. My mother use to serve a slice of unkown bread with fontina cheese on top. Then top it all off with a slice of rosemary tomato and a green olive in the center. It was very delicious. Whatever you may chose to serve at your table i hope it is a hit and have a wonderful night. Take care. What kind of wine should I serve with raclette?
Tomatoes, onions, mushrooms as sides.

A (red) Zinfandel might be good. What kind of wine should I serve with raclette?
You should try using the wine pairing tool on EnjoyBordeaux.com -- it allows you to plug in the type of food you are serving and then gives you a customized wine pairing recomendation!
