Raclette cheese - substitute?

I am wondering if there is any good substitutes for Raclette cheese and what they would be. I live in a smallish rural town and it's really hard to find things like that, but I would really like to start entertaining Raclette style again.Raclette cheese - substitute?
The best substitutes for Raclette cheese are Tilsit, Gruy猫re, Comt茅, Appenzeller, Emmentaler and Morbier. In the book "The Insider's Guide to the Secret World of Raclette Dining" (long title with plenty of information and recipes!) listed as source there are also plenty of other suggestions and of course recipes describing other things you can do with your raclette grill.

Fontina and gruyere make the best substitutions.

In response to Lisa's comment: If she's having trouble finding raclette, how likely is it that she'll find vacherin? I suggested two cheeses that are similar (not the same, I never said that)in taste that are readily available in most areas. Thanks. Maybe you should read the entire question and keep your insults to yourself.Raclette cheese - substitute?
Vacherin is much closer in taste than either gruyere and closer in both taste and texture than fontina (I am really wondering where Cheffy went to school!)
