What is the temperature of a heating element in an electrical oven, a raclette grill etc.?

Someone said it was as hot as 1000 degrees F. Does anyone know? What is the temperature of a heating element in an electrical oven, a raclette grill etc.?
I believe that's in the ballpark. The heating element itself (not the grill surface that you put food on) is probably around 1100 to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. A tungsten filament in an incandescent lamp is about 6000 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can't be hotter than that. Most heating elements, unless theay are made of some exotic ceramic material are made of a common alloy called nichrome (nickel-chrome). Look that up and you may find more info, good luck!
