i have a 2001 honda civic, and when i press the lock button on the remote, it sounds like the doors are locking, but i have to press it a second time to get it to make the typical beep noise. every other car i've ever seen does that the first time. it seems so weird. is this normal?Why do the doors on my honda civic apparently not completely lock with the remote?Many cars lock when you push the button the first time and arm the alarm when you push the button the second time.
Test the system by pushing the lock button on the keyless entry one time and trying to open the doors. If the doors don't open then your car probably works this way as well.
