Where should the clutch on a honda vt1100 release?

I have a 2004 Honda vt1100 motorcycle and my clutch doesn't release till it is 3/4 way. When should it release and how do I adjust it?Where should the clutch on a honda vt1100 release?It sounds about right, you should be able to adjust it at the clutch lever or further down the cable.
If you do leave a little slack on the lever, like 3 to 5mm

I prefer mine to bite a little further out than 3/4, like 4/5th's.
