I was wondering what engine would fit into my 1992 honda civic and i want the one with most power but don't wanna have to change the wire harness so which honda engine do i need so i can have sent away to be built because I bought a 1992 honda shell. What the most powerfull engine i can fit into my 1992 honda civic?@T-14
so this isn't power? i mean it cant be because you know everything and you said Honda's cant be fast. and running a 8 second quarter mile at 170 m.p.h is slow for a four banger. right?

HONDA POWER B*T*H

so from what your saying this is slow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE6X5AX_w鈥?/a>
and this honda beat a viper because its slow right?

and your logic fails horriblely. lets see. i own a b18a1 in my 90 integra gs and all i have is a k%26amp;n cold air intake, dc sport 4-2-1 piece headers, stock cat 2.5" straight pipes and a greddy muffler. ngk spark plugs and wires, and thats way under $1,000. i topped her out at 140 with no problems.thats not power? thats nearly stock.
any b series motors are something to work with "out of the box" so learn your facts before you start to bad mouth people. it only makes you look mental.
only boneheads brag about horsepower, and smart all around better built cars whens races. again your facts are all wrong. What the most powerfull engine i can fit into my 1992 honda civic?
t-14: honda not powerful? guess you havent heard about the 500hp 2010 NSX or never looked at evans-tuning? http://forums.evans-tuning.com/viewtopic鈥?/a> (540 whp rsx). btw a 1996 eclipse GS only pushes 140HP and its a 2.0L engine. a 1996 honda b18c1 (integra gsr motor) is 170 hp and only 1.8L. 30 horsepower more, and .2L smaller... open mouth insert foot.
also the way i see it is:
civic/integra shell in good condtion- $1000
b18b1 bottom end: 600
low comp pistons: 400
eagle rods: 400
any b16 head: 400
additional parts needed (pumps, belts, trans, ecu, etc etc etc): about 1000
full arp: 300
scrapyard turbo w/ intercooler: 1500
full 3 inch exhaust and 2.5" charge pipes: less than 100 in hardware, since i can do my own welding
adjustable coilover kit from skunk2: 250
dyno tune: 300
end result: a 350 WHP car that i got for 6.25 grand. if you can find a car that costs that little to hit the 350whp mark, pls say so...
anyway the most powerful one you can find without having to change yoru harness or anything is the d15B...which is hard to find and only gives you 105 hp. not worth the money in my books.
with changing the harness and a few other parts you could easily fit ina d16z6 or y8, which are about 125 hp.
with a little more work you can fit in a b series or even a k series motor. which (stock) would give you 140-190 (b series) or 160-260 HP (k series) depending on which motor you get.
edit: so you're comparing a turbo DSM to N/A honda? if you wanna compare turboed motors, then you're 210 HP 210 DSM can kiss the *** of the honda k23a1 (240 HP 260 TQ).
anyway since you seem to not know anything about cars (since you brought up a V6 mustang...those only push 210 HP btw) HP isnt what you brag about. TQ gets you moving, horsepower gets you down the track. its a way to measure the kinetic energy of TQ x RPM / 5252. in other words its how far into the RPM range you're car can handle before its TQ falls off. higher RPM=faster acceleration, so if my 210TQ car can hold power into the 9k RPM range and yours can only hold it to the 6K RPM range, guess who is going to win?
whether i have to mod it or not: 350HP is 350HP. do you speak out of your *** often, or do you really just know absoutely nothing about cars?
and if you wanna talk about V6s, look at the honda j37a4: 305 HP 273 TQ...not bad for a 3.7L engine... 95HP more than the mustang, and .3L less. like i said before: open mouth, insert foot.
and props to stewie for his I/H/E build. most honda tuners start there. What the most powerfull engine i can fit into my 1992 honda civic?1. honda, powerful? no, hell no, oh hell no.
like my buddy and i was talking about today, a honda is nowhere to be found in the performance isle, but can be but takes lots and lots above lots of money to be stacked up to anything worth mentioning.
swap in a dsm engine
.. who in the f.. would swap over to a gs? when you have a gt 210 hp 210 tq turbo inline 4..? see your logic failed.
and the so called 500 hp honda? last i heard still a promo. hondas are not fast, it takes money to get one fast. unlike mitsubishi, nissan, toyota %26lt; certain models, out of the box comes quick. only decent thing honda/acura had was the nsx but who could afford it, not the average joe.
even swapping over to the motor you said, after all that work a stock yes i said stock ( V6 ) mustang, camaro, firebird of any model will out run or run with it.
should of gotten something to work with out of the box, without torque this or any other honda isnt going no where.
remember, horsepower you brag about, torque you feel.
horsepower gets you speed, torque wins races. facts are factsWhat the most powerfull engine i can fit into my 1992 honda civic?
the most powerful motor that is a honda motor is between h22 dohc vtec or b18c5 dohc vtec type R. (not listing K SERIES) they are around 220. and that is very stock, the b18 would be a simple bolt in affair, mabye a little wiring (5 wires). if u want to build it just go b20 vtec. on a budget get a b16, you will be very pleased, just google vtec..lolWhat the most powerfull engine i can fit into my 1992 honda civic? If you want more power, you will need to change wire harness and possibly ECU, other wise ypur stuck with SOHC D-series engines without VTEC
For more power have a B-series engine put into it, like B16A, or B18
