I have a 99 honda accord coupe 4 cylinder and i was told that code p1259=vtec sensor malfunction shows up on car diagnsis. given a price of 600.00 to fix, is this good? How much should it cost to fix vtec sensor malfunction in 1999 honda accord?check your oil level. almost every time that code shows up its because the oil in the car is low!
the VTEC is engaged by oil pressure. if you're low on oil the oil pressure is low and VTEC won't engage.
by my guess, you're at least 2-3 quarts low. At $3.50 per quart it would cost about $7.00-$10.00 to fix your car. or pay the $15 and change your oil and filter.
If I'm wrong it only cost you the time to check your dipstick.
hope that helps

Used ones can be found anywhere. Also i had this problem and all i did was unplug it and cleaned the dirt off. I guess it was only a bad connection from the oil and grime build up.
