How much can I knock of the sticker price of a honda civic?

I want to buy a new honda civic and want to know how much I could get it for. Can I bargin the dealer down 4,000 dollars? How much can I knock of the sticker price of a honda civic?Getting $4000 off is unrealistic. With less then $1500 between invoice and MSRP. Dealers pay invoice then have other expenses for the true cost to the dealer.

There are many sites that will tell you what the average price paid is in your area. This price will include any manufacturer money available.

In my area I would be about $19,400. If you were at the dealership in person the manager may be a little more motivated. How much can I knock of the sticker price of a honda civic?
If your lucky...really lucky....you could probably know off about 32 cents. How much can I knock of the sticker price of a honda civic?Usually you go to different dealerships in your area and find the best deals. Once you found a good deal, offer you price. Keep in mind that dealers won't sell the car lower than what they got it for. It helps if you have a good credit score.

An 09 Honda Civic often goes for $22,000 MSRP

To be realistic, HONDA PEOPLE ARE CHEAP....

I was going to buy 2008 Honda Accord EX-L top of the line.... It was in september beginning of 2009 models.

I asked to reduce $2750, and we'll buy for cash right away...

They said they'll reduce 2500, we said redcue extra 250, and we'll take it and they didn't...

And the Honda Civic Ex-l we were looking to buy, they won't lower more than $500....

$4000 is a bit unrealistic for chepos like Honda....

That's why we bought Hyundai, one hell of a service, gave me $5000 discount right off the back, gave us great value of trade in....

So yeah, if your lucky or one hell of a bargainer maybe $1000? But if you want that much discount go to Hyundai LOL!!! I did and i NEVER REGRET IT.

I NOW DRIVE 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited....How much can I knock of the sticker price of a honda civic?$4,000 is unrealistic just because of the price of the car. Sure they are marked up but they are only marked up a little mostly 1500 as said above. But there are always incentives for buying like money off or a 0% interest kind of thing. the best thing to do is go for a 0% or low interest rate if you have the credit because if you plan to finance than you will save that and more over the price of the car. Also honda and other car company's aren't cheap it depends on what the incentives are. there are different kinds of money back. customer and dealer. Customer is what you see and hear on TV. Dealer is what the dealer has to work with and profit. So a customer money back could be 2,000 bringing a 22,000 car to 20,000 but the dealer money back could be another 2,000 they do not have to tell you about it because technically it is their money. If they feel the need they can give this to you too. It all depends on how the cars are priced, and how they need to move them. also, if you plan to trade in they can low ball you on a trade and knock off the $4,000 you want and make the money back on your trade by resale. Its all a business for them and they want to break even or better. its best to do your research and see what you can find as the average price because there aren't many if any people who get a screaming deal on cars unless you are a employee or have someone in your family who can get a employee discount. I would just take your time and see who is willing to go lowest because new cars are priced from the manufacturer not the dealer so they have to follow it or they are just bad business people.
