How Do I put saddlebags onto a Honda Rebel?

I recently bought some saddlebags for my Honda Rebel but do now know how to put them on as no instructions were included. Instead of hassling with going up the guy's butt,(I figure negative feedback was good enough) I placed one phone call to my local dealer and they emailed the document and sent the missing trim piece from Milwaukee for free. I assume you bought soft bags but are they joined by a web of material or by two adjustable straps or are they separate items?

If joined they can just be slung over the seat or trapped under it. If they are separate you'll need to strap them to the bike frame.

Make sure the bags clear the exhaust. Depending on how big the bags are and where the rear signals are located you may have to relocate the signals.
