How do I get it ready for winter? How do I get my Honda Civic ready for winter?Nothing really, the only thing I can suggest (lived in Connecticut for 20 years) is getting an ice scraper, a small shovel and some spare cable in case you end up getting stuck in snow.
When you leave your car in the snow for a while use the ice scraper (which should have a brush on it) to remove snow and ice off the windows, lights, and wheel-wells of your car.

Make sure its has plenty of antifreeze, make sure battery teminals are clean, use an antifreeze type windshield wiperfluid, probably also smart to get a set of winter tires. Also use only the recommended 5w20 oil or 0w20 oil.. I suggest mobil 1 full synthetic, as it provides much better protection, especially in the winter months. Check the heater performance.
Check the tires threads.
Check the Spark Plugs.
Check the Alternator charging performance.
Check the brakes.
Replace the Windshield Wipers.
I recommend you to go to a car service to check the above list.
Have the antifreeze checked so your engine block does not freeze and fill your windshield washer reservoir with fluid (you will need to keep your windshield from icing up)
