I can go through the many reasons why ricing your Civic is a stupid idea and a waste of money, but go ahead and agree with the person who's looking at the most expensive yet worthless options. Front wheel drive cars are not designed with performance in mind. If you're looking for performance

LOL. The know-nothings always post their "all-knowing" knowledge. Even on a budget you can put down some good numbers at the track.
Just build your internals for high compression, tune your ECU to handle the bolt ons, and it will last.
No tune = ticking time bomb.

Funer isn't a word.
Faster? Doesn't apply, because that assumes that it's fast to start with. It's an 89 Civic, with barely 106 horses at the engine. Around 80 at the wheels. Assuming you have a good engine in there.
Yank the engine, and put something better in it. Such as a different car.
Yes, Civics can be made fast. With a lot of money, and at the end of the day, it's still a civic. And no one will care.
Most importantly, making it fast, and making it last, do not agree with each other. The faster you make something, the sooner it will die. That's the way it goes. So decide what's more important.
High level drag cars are a perfect example. Many times, the entire engine is swapped out, after only one race, because it's so fried. Extreme example, but you get the point.
