What could be cause for poor acceleration on a 2001 Honda Accord LX?

My 2001 Honda Accord LX has almost 140k miles on it and lately its acceleration has been bad. I recently did a tune up on it. Replaced plugs, wires, rotor and cap. But that didn't help any and driving under poor acceleration is pretty dangerous, especially trying to merge with traffic and can't really keep up with everybody. I need to know what else could be the probelm and how much its going to cost to fix it?What could be cause for poor acceleration on a 2001 Honda Accord LX?Maybe plugged fuel filter, injectors, or low fuel pressure. Could also be a plugged cat. converter. Take it to the dealership and have it scanned.. An Autozone scanner will not read anything unless your check engine light is on..What could be cause for poor acceleration on a 2001 Honda Accord LX?
Without actually driving it. It is hard to say positively. However, what you are describing sounds as though your Catalytic Converter is plugging up. The exhaust gas has no where to go, so the engine does not get the required new air/fuel charge for the next go round. A Muffler shop can check this out. Usually for under $50. Then if you agree to let them fix it, they most times drop the inspection fee. It will take them a half hour, start to finish. What could be cause for poor acceleration on a 2001 Honda Accord LX?there's too many things that it could be on that one,try having the computer scanned on it first to see if it has any trouble codes on it,this might tell you if it has a bad sensor on it or something that might be causing this to happen, without knowing whats going on with the computer in it,you could replace every part on it,and still not get it fixed have it scanned and go from there with it,good luck on it.What could be cause for poor acceleration on a 2001 Honda Accord LX?
yup, im with dodge man... have it scanned for codes, autozone does it for free here if you dont have a scanner. tell us what 'p' codes come up and we can go from there. What could be cause for poor acceleration on a 2001 Honda Accord LX?could be many things.. maybe your stuck in a higher gear (transmission problem). First I would go with the easy stuff like getting fuel system cleaners and change your fuel filter, pump, etc. If that doesn't work have a mechanic look at itWhat could be cause for poor acceleration on a 2001 Honda Accord LX?
Clogged fuel filter.

How do I remove the Pioneer head unit from my Honda Accord?

I need to install a Pioneer CD-RB10 auxiliary adapter into a Pioneer DEH-P250 head unit. I drive a 95 Honda Accord 4dr Sedan, my question is, where would I find instructions on how to remove the head unit in order to get to the back of it? Does it just depend on the way the deck is installed in the dash? How do I remove the Pioneer head unit from my Honda Accord?usually you can just slide it off with some force

but first:

1. Make the gear go down to first if automatic.

so the radio can freely exit

2. with some force pull it at the angle that it looks like it wont break etc..

3. unplug the wires from the back remember where teh go(to unplug make sure to do it straight so u won't damage anything

4. there u go,, plug everything in and your done..

ohh i suggest you run the other end of wire of the auxilary input to the glove compartment..if u dont have a setup done already..

this might help!!!

usually wont have to take off panels because it will just slide out!!!How do I remove the Pioneer head unit from my Honda Accord?
If you don't have the "keys" I used two wide wire ties / cable ties. I shoved one tie into each slot on the side and worked the radio free. I recommend getting the keys, but if you are in bind this worked for me. I tried butter knives, small screw drivers etc as recommended by others, but no luck.

How do I remove the Pioneer head unit from my Honda Accord?See if you can get your hands on some Pioneer keys. They're basically 2 6" long, thin pieces of metal that slide in on either side of the radio, and unlock the radio from the mounting cage. They've also got a little barb that catches on the radio and slides it out.

If you cannot find any, knives work, but aren't as easy to use. You'll have to find a way to grip the radio to get it to slide out.How do I remove the Pioneer head unit from my Honda Accord?
Same idea as the pictures in the link below. I wouldnt know though because The 95 models are different!!!

What is a 1977 honda xl70 worth and why wont it go?

Hi I've got a 1977 honda xl70 in good nic I've been using it on the farm for 5 years never done anything to it never broke down started first kick every time and I went to start it one day and it wouldn't go!

I cleaned the points, carburetter and the spark plug but no spark and no go!

I bought a new spark plug it still wouldn't go please someone help me!

ThanksWhat is a 1977 honda xl70 worth and why wont it go?a common first fix when you have no spark is the coil....watch e-bay and get a new one....if this does not fix it,then it would be a stator problem...little bit more expensive but you could probably find a used one...start with coil though.....another great place for parts is bikeboneyard.com........and depending on how nice bike is.400-850 is for a running bike.....850 would be very nice bikeWhat is a 1977 honda xl70 worth and why wont it go?
Replace the points and condenser. The condenser on these little bikes will die, and you won't have spark without it. Check the area around the points for corrosion and rust. Be sure the wires coming out of the points are all in good shape, no cracks.

If you haven't installed a new spark plug recently, I'd do that too.

If these don't solve the problem, then I'd carefully check all the wiring (as mentioned by others here) for worn housings or bad grounds.

It's most likely something basic. What is a 1977 honda xl70 worth and why wont it go?Hi, if the bike ran when you put it away, then it should be a fuel problem. I would revisit the cleaning of the carburetor and this time use carb cleaner and compressed air. Check your tank, install fresh fuel in it..................................... Just for giggles, use some eyther in the intake side and see if it will try to start before you do anything else. That will usually tell you if it is carb or electrical.....Next time you store it put some fuel conditioner in it STA-BIL.....What is a 1977 honda xl70 worth and why wont it go?
Possible broken wire where the wire ignition sourse wire goes from the side case up.Test with a continuity tester.Make sure the condensor is secured tightly and not grounding at points connection.Coil may be defective. If you have power to the coil and no fire it could be the problem.Check kill switch on handle bar and wiring to it to make sure it is not going to ground.Look for pin holes in the wiring loom that is tied to the frame as the ignition wire may be running to ground.Nice machine. What is a 1977 honda xl70 worth and why wont it go?If its mint $1800

Clean $800

Rat bike $350

Non running rat bike $175.

Its your condenser. Thats about a $20 fix.

How to turn a Honda Goldwing into a Cafe cruiser?

I have a 1983 Honda Goldwing with the fairings and saddle bags. I want to strip it down, remove the fairings and saddle bags and make it look more like a cafe cruiser. When I pull the fairing off will I have to get any extra parts or make any modifications so that the front will look half way decent? What other mods are usually made when converting the goldwing into a cafe cruiser? How to turn a Honda Goldwing into a Cafe cruiser? There was / is a guy in Detroit that would bring really cool gold wing cafe conversions to the State Fairground swap meets. There is a site "naked goldwing.com check out their bike of the month pics if you want some ideas. Or do a google search of Honda goldwing cafe racers and check the image pages. There is stuff that ranges from the ridiculous to the incredible.

Good luck with your projectHow to turn a Honda Goldwing into a Cafe cruiser? The idea of a cafe racer is to strip off everything that's not necessary to make the bike as fast and as light weight as possible while remaining street legal. Better shocks and suspension help make it handle better. Trim or remove the fenders and get rid of anything else that's not required for lighter weight. See if you can find a smaller gas tank and fiberglass seat pan. Maybe a little clip-on windshield and smaller handle bars... If you want to go fast, then you need to make sure you can stop as well. Better brakes are a good idea.

If your bags and fairing are still in good condition, you could probably sell them on ebay or some other auction site. How to turn a Honda Goldwing into a Cafe cruiser? You will have to figure out how to mount the headlight and turn-signals. Be prepared for lots of ugly stuff hidden by the fairing! The Gold Wing will never look much like a cafe racer, though: Cafe racers never have anything but chain final drive, and the flat-four motor will look totally wrong. You should really have spoked wheels, too, which the mid-to-late-seventies Gold Wings had. You can't really replace the "fuel tank", since it isn't really a fuel tank, and houses the electrics.

Why do you think Honda and Toyota alway rank at the top of the list for who makes the best quality vehicles?

These two types of automobiles always seem to rank higher than Ford and GM. Why do you think Toyota and Honda always seem to be at the top of the list? Why are there not more votes for BMW or Mercedes? Why do you think Honda and Toyota alway rank at the top of the list for who makes the best quality vehicles?BMW and Mercedes have really expensive parts, probably more expensive then they need to be. Alot of what your paying for is their name brand thus with Honda and Toyota you could get the same part for less and their really reliable. American cars just suck because they break so easily and practically are designed to fail. Why do you think Honda and Toyota alway rank at the top of the list for who makes the best quality vehicles?
Well because Hondas and Toyotas are cheaper and sell more, plus they save gas, are reliable, and the japanese put thought to making them, the BMW and Mercedez are luxury cars and more expensive, maybe just as reliable or more as Honda and Toyota, but more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$Why do you think Honda and Toyota alway rank at the top of the list for who makes the best quality vehicles?Actual customer data backs that up. Honda and Toyota have fewer reported problems than any other manufacturer. Mercedes is actually really bad in that regard. It ranks at or near the very bottom in terms of reliability.

If you have a subscription to Consumer Reports you can go and look for yourself on thier website. Ford is actually not that bad. It's best of the US car makers.

This isn't really an opinion matter. It's just facts about which cars break down more.

Now if you want to talk about which cars are "cooler" or better looking or more fun to drive... thats opinion and you will find people that say all sorts of things. Why do you think Honda and Toyota alway rank at the top of the list for who makes the best quality vehicles?
Generally when people rank vehicles by quality, they are basing it on how reliable the car is in its prime. Honda and Toyotas are reliable but they don't last long. You can't put as many miles on a honda or toyota as you can a Saab or Volvo for example.

Honda and Toyota dont deserve to be ranked as high as they are, IMO. I witnessed an accident recently where a toyota ran into the back of a ford. The toyota was totalled and the ford drove away, with nothing more than a few scratches on the bumper. Why do you think Honda and Toyota alway rank at the top of the list for who makes the best quality vehicles?Actually the latest quality rankings have Toyota way down towards the bottom on that list with Ford %26amp; GM up near the top. Honda is still up near the top, but the gap has grown smaller. This isn't the 1980's anymore.
